About
Borneo Dayak Longhouse Stay
Borneo Dayak Longhouse Stay (BDLS),wholly owned by Agro-Touri Enterprise is situated on a 8 acres land in Kampung Braang Payang, about 45 kilometers from Kuching town, 40 minutes drive on tar and gravel road. This private project is established without any financial assistance from any quarter. It was transpired from great love of a close knit family welcoming and interacting with relatives, friends and visitors from all walks of life to their simple traditional home and enjoyed their great company. But not everybody came loaded with fortune and happiness, some were heavy laden and sought for solace, brotherly and sisterly sharing and understanding.

BDLS started as a hobby in 2003 where four fish ponds situated on the hill were filled with exotic fish meant to distress tired mind while watching the fish as they fed them. Visitors also enjoyed wrestling with the fish while fishing and they not only fished for fish but ‘fished’ for quality time with family and friends. In 2005, further expansion consisted of convenient mart and wine and dine restaurant answering the needs of our foreign and domestic tourists. In 2006, BDLS extended its activities to outdoors such as trekking along the lush greenery to the majestic Sebarau Waterfall, enjoying a bath at the tranquil water of the beautiful Siren River and beaming at the latest discovery of the unexplored Baju Cave. All are within 15 to 20 minutes from this tourist destination which means even juniors can reach these wonderful spots to complete their fantastic holidays.

AgroTouri Enterprise
What better way to describe AgroTouri Enterprise as a family park? A park that is build by strong support and love from family members. Its situated in Padawan, on the way to Kampung Annah Rais ( Kampung Annah Rais is famous for their hot spring). Its about 45km from Kuching and takes about 30minutes to reach, minus the traffic jamm.
Being a bidayuh myself, I quite embarrassed to admit that I can’t speak fluently at all. Born by mix parentage of Bidayuh and Iban, the family is fully dominated by my mom, who is by the way a very wonderful person I have known. All these year, her kids has been raised to speak in Iban , English and very limited Bidayuh. Apparently, my dad got Ibanized by my mom. He must have loved her a lot when they were dating before.

We never stay in one place for more than 10 years. Due to responsibility, working obligation and studies, family member have been moving from Miri, Sibu, Kanowit, Kuching , Kuala Lumpur and Sabah . It was very difficult to be together that time. Coming from a close knit family, quality time together is precious than any gold or diamond can offer. Both of my parents emphasize the important of being together and supporting each other. Al though they never said it out loud but each one of us knew what they are trying to portray. Food was never scarce or less on table. All the brothers and sister never miss it for a chance. You can smell those “goreng ayam” from distance. We often fought for food as if there is not enough. Funny, now I realized we actually want to pick each other off. Look what it has done to us. Healthy like a maggot.

Growing up 4 boys and one girl was never an easy task for my parent, especially when those 4 boys are acting like monkeys, 24/7. Yes, me and my brothers just simply cannot sit, stop quarreling, playing and making fun of each other. We had so much fun during our younger days. I miss those days. Oh yes, don’t get me wrong here. Im not a 60 years old man. Infact, I am only 27 to be exact.

As we grow up into young adult, each one of us has to go our separate ways in order to pursue our study and working. In 2001, both of my parents got a job offer that is of different geographical location. Dad has to go to KL( where Igat is currently working ) and mom has to reside in Sibu. At the same time, myself and ujang has to stay in Kuching to pursue our study. In a way, the family was in sporadic location. We miss each other a lot. You tell it by the telephone bills incurred. Thankyou Telekom!

Years passed by without us realizing it. Dad has just retired, mom still where she is – working, and most of the children has started to work as young professional. Some are in KL but most are in Kuching. It dint take a long time to convince my father to establish AgroTouri. He got pretty tired hanging at home and listened to mom’s ever so loving long nagging. Do this, do that .. yada yada.. haiya..
With little cash but strong support by all his children, uncle and cousins, AgroTouri was born in 2003. Welcome to our humble domain and enjoy our wonderful family’s stories of adventures and fun.
